In most instances, if you fire more than three shots in a level, I'd argue you're playing it the wrong way. You should only use guns in really three instances: shooting something heavy so that it will fall and crush your target, shooting them silently in the back of the head while nobody is watching, or pulling off a long-distance sniper shot for the perennial "sniper assassin" challenge. One thing I would advise, however, is putting the guns away. But the most satisfying deaths might not yield the best scores: it's up to you what playing this game well means. The game will score you, and it's fun to go after a perfect score. In many cases, it means drowning people in toilets. It also wants you to consider the ridiculous: smack someone into the ocean with a fish, blackmail someone while dressed as a giant pink flamingo and then push them down an elevator shaft: etc. Incinerate a race car driver with overtuned pyrotechnics as she accepts her trophy, feed an arrogant drug dealer to his pet hippo, blow a movie director off a skyscraper with an overpowered industrial fan. For you, that might mean utter and complete silence: a simple slip of a poison pill into a glass of champagne, a quiet fiber wire in an isolated moment. In most cases, however, the game pushes you to consider the baroque, or perhaps the poetic. The challenge in Hitman 2 is to complete the level well. The challenge in Hitman 2 is not just to complete the level, or even really to complete the level with a high score, which the above approach won't do for you. This is, in case it wasn't clear, the wrong way. It will probably work, and you could complete the game in an afternoon without breaking too much of a sweat. Grab a gun and shoot them when you get the chance, then sprint away as best you can. If you wanted to, you could just sort of kill them. They are for the most part the most prominent people in every location you visit. They are not hard to find, because all but one will be immediately highlighted in red when you activate your "instinct" vision. In total there are 14 targets that must be killed: perhaps more, but not less. There are 5 full levels and one short introductory level. Hitman 2 is an assassination game, as the name implies, as well as the latest entry in a landmark stealth series.
